We are pleased to announce that Ms. West will be returning as a SIG instructor for summer 2020! At the Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG), courses are led by qualified professional teachers. SIG instructors have expertise in their disciplines and represent an array of professional backgrounds.
Meet Ms. West: SIG Instructor
Ms. West loves to teach science! She is a 14-year veteran Science Teacher, Certified Gifted Instructor, Curriculum Developer, and an FLL Robotics Team Coach during the school year.
During the summer, she is a dynamic SIG Science Instructor. She has been teaching for the SIG at Emory University program since the summer of 2010 as a Jr. Chemistry, Biology, DNA, CSI, Neuroscience, Zoology, and Writing Instructor.
Indeed, working for SIG allows her to meet bright and creative students from all over the country and the world. When she is not teaching, she loves to travel and explore various educational and scientific exhibits with her husband and their three children.

So do you have a gifted child who would benefit from courses led by qualified SIG instructors? SIG offers three-week summer programs for gifted, creative, and academically talented students ages 5-17. Additionally, SIG offers both residential and day program options.
Through an innovative curriculum that spans all facets of STEAM, plus humanities and fitness, SIG challenges students to utilize knowledge of different disciplines to discover creative solutions. Specifically, the SIG STEAM+ curriculum focuses on applying creative thinking across multiple disciplines to solve real-world problems.
As a result, SIG summer programs combine academics with social, cultural and recreational opportunities for a truly engaging summer!
